Hooray! Deedsays.com made it to one year! I originally started this blog with one intent - to document my journey to not end up in Brooklyn for New Year's Eve. And I'm very happy to report that this year, I did not end up in Brooklyn! What-what!
Instead of hipster-ing it up, I spent my last day of 2013 in a cozy house with the best family ever, eating the best Chinese food Rockland County, NY has to offer and joking about Turkish farm animals.
Our feast also included a true Rockland speciality - garlic rolls from Rocco's pizzeria. If you haven't had these, it's worth traveling all the way to New City, NY in some sort of transport van to try them. Even if you live in Ohio. Or Canada. Or like somewhere near Oregon. They are yum times 10!
So, now that I've met my goal of going Brooklyn-free on New Year's Eve, I wonder what my goal for the next New Year's should be. Hmm... to not eat Chinese food? To eat Chinese food, but not in Brooklyn? To see how many eggrolls I can eat as I step over the border into Brooklyn? This is getting complicated... I might have to eat Chinese food in all five boroughs just to be safe.
Thanks so much, everyone, for reading my blog. Looking forward to more oddball adventures in the year 2014!
PS: Here's the fortune I got on New Year's Eve. My question: What if your ambition is to be unsuccessful? Hah!
